Sony has announced that its new gaming system, Vita, will be released in the U.S. on February 22.
“With its vibrant 5-inch OLED screen, dual analog sticks, dual cameras, and front and rear touch panel, PS Vita will deliver rich, immersive games with stunning graphics, which simply can’t be found anywhere else,” blogged Sony’s American Entertainment CEO Jack Tretton. “Now you’ll be able to play shooters and action titles on-the-go with controls that are familiar, and you won’t have to block out the gorgeous screen to interact with the games.”
The “ultimate in handheld entertainment” device will have a “vast” library of titles from which to choose on launch. In addition, via both Wi-Fi and 3G network connectivity, PS Vita users can stay connected with their favorite social networks likes Facebook and Twitter.
PS Vita will retail for $299 in the U.S. “Vita” in Latin means “Life”.
